A leaked code is a discount that escaped the audience it was made for: a welcome offer, an influencer code, a staff or VIP code. It gets posted on a coupon site or a forum, or picked up by a browser extension.
Shopify keeps applying it, because the code is still valid. Nothing in your admin tells you it has spread.
How we find it
For each code we compare the last 7 days with its usual weekly use, and check how many of those orders came from known coupon sites. New codes get time to launch first.We compare each code with its usual rate, and check for coupon-site orders.

How is this different from Shopify’s own discount reports?
Shopify shows how often a code was used. CheckoutLeak compares that with the code’s usual rate, checks where those orders came from, and tells you what it cost.
